Tours and Speaker Requests

In accordance with Dallas County orders, visitors 10 years and older are REQUIRED to wear face coverings while at all City of Garland facilities. 

All tours will be limited to 9 attendees, in accordance with the Governor's Strike Force to Open Texas. Tours must be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance. Face coverings must be worn at all times, indoors and outdoors.

Recycling Center & Transfer Station Tours

Come learn about where your trash and recycling materials go after they leave your curb. 

Storytime on litter prevention and recycling is available. 

Tours are held Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tours may be held outside these hours based on staff availability.

C. M. Hinton, Jr. Regional Landfill Tours

The Hinton Landfill accepts municipal solid waste, construction, and demolition waste from residents, private waste haulers, and commercial businesses, taking in approximately 1,100 tons of garbage every day. 

Located at 3175 Elm Grove Road, Rowlett, TX 75089, the landfill’s hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the general public.
